Nervous System Dance Party 2007

No pictures this time. Just a quick update. Bella has begun a 4-6 week stage of nervous system development, which is typically accompanied by more alert hours, more fussiness, and much flailing of the arms and legs. She hasn't been as easy to console and doesn't enjoy being out of someone's arms unless she is passed out. I can see how this period could wear a new parent out.

In other news, she and Marley seem to be getting along just fine. They cry back and forth at each other occasionally, none of it in English, so I'm not really sure what they are saying. I'd like to believe they are comparing notes on how awesome their parents are, though I would expect that to be in more civil tones. Marley is truly getting about the same amount of attention as he's always gotten, but now it seems like he is a little more jealous of it, especially from Dad.

Side note - we thought we'd try soy formula to see if that helped the fussy stomach. Great day in the morning! That stuff stinks! It smells like cardboard that has been wet for a decade, with a light sprinkling of raw wheat for character. I can deal with the slightly ripe milk smell of regular formula and I don't even mind if it comes back up, just as long as it isn't a legume product! Crazy vegans.

An Introduction

Hello world. I am Bella. That's short for Isabella Rose. You can call me Bean, or Bear, or Monster, or most anything.

I made a calculated entrance at 8:08 AM on April 1st, 2007 at United Hospitals in St. Paul, Minnesota.

I came in at 7 lbs 8.5 oz, and 20 inches long. I have since grown to 8 lbs 2 oz and 20.5 inches long, right on pace.

My eyes are deep gray blue and my hair, which I am very proud of, is brown and a little bit red.

I've posted just a few of my hundreds of pictures below so that you can get a chance to know me. Let me know what you. I am relatively new to.. well, everything. Enjoy!

Those first few minutes were really cold and bright, but interesting.

I kind of like baths actually.

I call this look Blue Steel. I didn't originate it but it is so versitile.
Mom has been so great!
This is my secret weapon. How do you not love a face like this?Peace yo!This is the first day I met my brother Marley.Whenever I want anything, all I have to do is look at them like this."I've devised a cunning plan.""Hmm...no I think the window treatments go much better with the red duvet then they do with that earth-tone. But it's your call."
